Via Cardorna Wedges $198 from Anthropologie!

Spring shoes are slowly making their way into stores, edging out all the furry winter boots on sale--and none too soon. Since it's impossible to wear wedge sandals at this time (at least here in slushy NYC), I thought I'd feature a most impractical, but thoroughly delightful pair! These nude-coloured, sky high Via Cardorna wedge platforms might be the actual antithesis of a rainboot, and are the perfect muse for spring footwear. Let's all keep dreaming... they are $198.00 from Anthropologie.

Fab finds at the Ted Baker sale!

I stroll by the SoHo Ted Baker store almost every day, intrigued, but not venturing in because of the anticipation of sticker shock. But that very snowy day last week was an exception: it looked warm and cosy inside and there was a large 60% sale sign up on the window. Needless to say, within five minutes I had found these amazing leather biker pants, regularly $398.00, marked down to $148.00. They fit like a glove, and are a little less "punk" because of the panels of jersey down the legs, making them more jodhpur-like than motorcycle pants. The leather is buttery soft, and the jersey gives just the right amount of stretch. I'm going to happily wear them like my trusty leggings, tucked into boots for now, then with ballet flats as the weather gets milder. Sweet! Then, just as I was about to pay, I found this front pleat top, regularly $168.00, now $48.00. It's a perfect layering piece to wear with a blazer or cardigan. Could I get any luckier? Try your luck by stopping into the Ted Baker store at 107 Grand St, NYC, or visit their sale section online, you won't be disappointed!

ps. When I got home, I noticed that the leather pants had a small slash in the leather near the waistband, and another incision near the hem. Maybe that was the reason for the $250.00 discount? Hoping they weren't on final sale, I took them back the next day with my receipt, hoping for the best. The manager took one look and offered to exchange them for another pair from the stockroom. Voila! I was the happy owner of a pristine pair of leather pants, at a fantastic price, to boot! Kudos to Ted Baker on their fantastic customer service. I'll be back!

Spring Transition Must-Have: The Little Tweed Jacket from TheFind!

As we ever-so-slowly creep into the sunnier months of early spring, it's time to leave those bulky winter coats behind and start looking forward to more lightweight outerwear. Light jackets, linen trenches, jersey motos, and my favorite preppy-chic piece, the fitted tweed jacket. Despite the traditional uppity "ladies who lunch" connotation of a tweed suit jacket, the style is transforming into a casual spring transition staple, perfect to be thrown over jeans and a tee with some cute bow flats, or paired with a casual springy dress for instant Sunday brunch cuteness. Despite its purposely shrunken fit and tailoring, the look still maintains a little edge with zipper details, bold stitching, and some switch things up and refrain from being too boxy with blazer-inspired silhouettes that hug snugly for a streamlined fit. What's especially great about a tweed jacket is that it can be easily dressed up or down, and taken from work to cocktail hour without looking too casual or too buttoned-up, depending on how you wear it!

Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad in Paris Night $12.99 from Target!

Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad in Paris Night $12.99 from Target! featured on Shopalicious.com
A routine dash to Target recently found me way off-track (in the cosmetics aisle, of course) from my plan of attack. I had wandered over to the Sonia Kashuk section, where this Paris Night eyeshadow quad caught my eye, and just wouldn't let go! For $12.99, it offers a perfect combination of colors you could wear during the day, then enhance for night, with the Very Sparkly grey glitter in the lower left corner. Unlike most drugstore brands, these shadows are very finely milled, so the colors go on smoothly with just the brush of a fingertip. With just a Q-tip and my finger, I was able to fashion myself a pretty decent smoky eye! The colours are smooth and easily-layered, so just keep adding a little more until you get the intensity you want. And I just love the very slick, modernist appeal of the shiny white packaging; it's got a little weight to it, as if you'd paid a lot more for it. A little luxury at drugstore prices, and I'll be back for more, Sonia Kashuk! It's $12.99 from Target.

Then, this Suede Fringe Tee from the Kate Moss for Topshop Collection would look great paired with skinny jeans and booties; just slip on a little cardigan or wrap for those chilly days. It was $80.00, now marked down to $40.00; both items from Topshop. Get free shipping on orders over $100.
