Diane von Furstenberg styling event, compliments of Coutorture

DVF storefront featured on Shopalicious.comJust recently, I was invited by Coutorture to participate in a Diane von Furstenberg styling event. We would show up at the DVF store, select several outfits, and after professional hair and makeup styling, we'd get photographed wearing a few select outfits. Naturally, I was thrilled -- since Diane von Furstenberg just happens to be one of my absolute favourite designers -- but filled with trepidation nonetheless!
What to wear? Would I trip and fall? What if I got there and couldn't decide what outfits to pick? Well, after a couple of spa services to boost my spirits, I set out last night for a soggy commute to the Meatpacking District where the DVF flagship store is located. The store was glowing with the bright colors of the spring collection; I could spot it a block away! Within a few minutes of my arrival, I'd met a couple of fellow bloggers and a super-sweet DVF sales assistant helped me select about ten fantastic dresses. So far so good! We got a quick tour of the store, where their staff welcomed us, then it was down to the dressing rooms to get hair and makeup done, and start trying on the outfits. OMG, where to begin? I had a mountain of outfits to choose from (see right), and I could hear the giggles of glee coming from the other fitting rooms. A fast, pragmatic edit was necessary! Without further ado, let's review the photo shoot! Here goes:

Here's Clothes Pin and Daily Obsession;

Fops and Dandies and Shoptometrist;

She Finds and Fashion Bomb;

The Shoe Blog and yours truly, Shopalicious!

Shopalicious again, and finally, the happy group!

This was all very heady stuff for a gal like me who swoons over bargains; however, I must say, there's nothing like getting a taste of high fashion without having to look at pricetags! But the staff excitedly told me they'll be having a sample sale soon -- keep posted for the scoop! The biggest thing I took away from this event is that DVF really takes great care to make clothes that look good on real women, not just runway models. It was a really fantastic and fun event; thanks so much to Sarah and Julie at Coutorture, and all the staff at DVF!
