Boutique Bio: Ayoma Itchome on Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn NY

Ayoma Itchome store frontAyoma Itchome store backAs I was roaming around the Smith Street/Atlantic Avenue area in Brooklyn recently, I stumbled upon this intriguing little boutique, Ayoma Itchome. A discreet storefront belies the spacious interior, designed to make you feel as if you've entered a very stylish young Parisian lady's drawing room. With antique clothes racks for display, charming trompe l'oeil on the walls, and plenty of comfy couches for lounging, you can immediately feel at home admiring the boutique's offerings.
The designer behind Ayoma Itchome is Japanese-born Hogo Natsuwa. After graduating from Tokyo's Bunka Fashion Institute, he worked at several prestigious American fashion houses, before launching his first collection at the end of 2001. Natsuwa's designs include Japanese-inspired floral and graphic prints with a fresh, modern appeal; slinky tunics, shift dresses and blouses are the foundations of his collection. It's a great place to find the perfect dress for a spring wedding or cocktail party!
